Yours may be a family mission trip, a youth mission trip, an adult mission trip or even a medical mission trip, the theme of INNER PEACE is foundational to all that you will be doing during your trip. May the Peace of Christ be with you as you become an important part of God’s mission to the world.

Devotional Theme: Inner Peace

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. (Colossians 3:15)

What is Personal Peace? An inner/outer sense of well-being and calm that comes from being in a right relationship with God, the world, others and ourselves.

Words to Ponder… What was the source of Jesus Christ’s peace? Do I have peace in my heart/life?

Remembering the Last 24 Hours, consider the following statements (written or simply spoken to others)…

I’m looking forward to…

I know I need God to help me to…

I have felt worried or anxious about…

I pray for peace, especially in my relationship with…

Devotional Prayer

Dear God, your Word promises that peace comes from being in a right and loving relationship with you and others. Thank you for the inner peace you have given me about this mission trip. Today and in the days ahead help me to let go of anxiety, so that I might realize less of my unrest and more of Christ’s inner peace in my life and relationships. And may I be a peacemaker in the days ahead. Thank you.

From the Bible

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Romans 14:17,19 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit…Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Romans 12:18   If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Put Peace Into Action

Do you know someone who is very anxious or negative? First, be thankful to God for that person, and then take the initiative to do something positive and kind for him/her during the next 24 hours.
